It is not every day that Ghana’s CID boss becomes part of the entertainment conversation at a dancehall concert. But that is exactly what happened at ShattaFest 2026 when COP Lydia Yaako Donkor was spotted enjoying Shatta Wale’s birthday celebration.
The concert, held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 17, 2026, brought together thousands of music lovers and several prominent personalities.
However, among the unexpected appearances that caught attention online, Lydia Donkor’s presence stood out, especially because Ghanaians are more accustomed to seeing her addressing serious police matters than enjoying a dancehall concert.
From Police Briefings to Shatta Wale’s Music
Videos circulating on social media captured the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department arriving at the stadium dressed in an elegant all-white outfit.
Another clip showed her seated among other guests, visibly enjoying the music and moving along to the performances.
For someone whose public appearances are usually associated with criminal investigations and police briefings, seeing her enjoying herself at Shatta Wale’s concert offered a refreshing change.
After all, who says a senior police officer cannot enjoy good music?
Her appearance quickly became a talking point, adding an unexpected twist to an already exciting birthday celebration.
Black Stars Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare Also Shows Up
The surprises did not end with Lydia Donkor.
Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and former Ghana international Prince Tagoe were also spotted at the stadium enjoying the celebration.
Their appearance brought football and entertainment together as the two familiar sporting personalities joined other guests to support Shatta Wale.
The dancehall musician’s father, popularly known as Chief One, was also present to celebrate his son’s special occasion.
With football stars, entertainment personalities and a senior police official all gathering at one venue, ShattaFest 2026 was certainly not an ordinary birthday party.
Shatta Wale Continues to Attract Attention Beyond Music
What makes Lydia Donkor’s appearance particularly interesting is the unexpected setting.
Ghanaians usually hear about the CID in connection with serious criminal cases, so watching its director enjoying music at a major concert naturally attracted curiosity.
Beyond the excitement surrounding her appearance, the moment also highlighted how Shatta Wale’s influence extends beyond his usual fanbase.
From football personalities to prominent public officials, the musician’s birthday concert attracted people from different professional backgrounds.
And while the night was supposed to be all about Shatta Wale, Lydia Donkor’s unexpected appearance gave entertainment lovers another interesting moment to discuss.
Clearly, ShattaFest 2026 had something for everyone, including Ghana’s CID boss!
