Minority Leader and Effutu MP, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has launched a strong criticism of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the party of failing to fulfill its campaign promises.
Speaking to New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region on Saturday, June 20, Afenyo-Markin questioned whether the current administration was delivering on the expectations of Ghanaians.
According to him, the NDC campaigned on promises that have not translated into meaningful action since assuming office.
“We should ask ourselves whether the NDC is living up to the promises it made to the people of Ghana,” he told supporters. He further alleged that the governing party had misled voters during the election campaign.
The Minority Leader also emphasized the need for unity within the NPP, arguing that the party’s ability to present itself as a strong alternative government depends on internal cohesion.
He urged party members and supporters to put aside their differences and work together toward a common goal.
Addressing the gathering, Afenyo-Markin said he was speaking on behalf of the party’s leadership and appealed to members across the region to remain united and focused.
He noted that a divided opposition would only strengthen the position of the governing party, while a united NPP would be better positioned to regain the confidence of voters ahead of future elections.
