Speed Darlington is keeping his long-running feud with Burna Boy alive, and this time he wants the disagreement taken into a boxing ring.
The Nigerian rapper has publicly challenged Burna Boy to face him in a boxing match after his scheduled bout with comedian and content creator Carter Efe.
Speaking during a recent interview with Nevo Media, Speed Darlington said he hopes promoters can arrange a fight with the Grammy-winning singer once his match with Carter Efe is over.
Speed Darlington made it clear that the challenge is personal.
He linked his anger to his previous arrest and detention following a dispute involving statements he made about Burna Boy. Speed Darlington has repeatedly claimed Burna Boy was connected to his arrest and said he has no plans to forgive the singer.
The two Nigerian entertainers have been involved in a public feud for some time. Their disagreement attracted major attention after Speed Darlington made allegations involving Burna Boy and American music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs. The controversy later resulted in legal proceedings involving alleged defamation.
Now, Speed Darlington appears interested in moving the rivalry away from social media and interviews and into celebrity boxing.
Before any possible Burna Boy fight can happen, however, Speed Darlington has another opponent waiting.
He is scheduled to face Carter Efe on October 1 in Lagos as part of the “Chaos in the Ring” boxing event. The match has already attracted attention because both entertainers are known for their outspoken personalities and heated online exchanges.
There is currently no confirmation that Burna Boy has accepted Speed Darlington’s challenge, and no official boxing match between the two musicians has been announced.
Still, the idea is already generating conversation among fans.
A fight involving two well-known Nigerian music personalities would likely become a major entertainment event if it ever happens.
For now, Burna Boy remains Speed Darlington’s desired next opponent, not a confirmed one. Speed still has Carter Efe standing in front of him first but he has already made it clear who he wants across the ring from him next.
