Canadian rap superstar Drake gave fans in Houston a night to remember after making a surprise appearance during Karol G’s concert on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The unexpected moment happened during the Colombian superstar’s Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour stop at Reliant Stadium in Houston, where Drake suddenly joined her onstage to perform his global smash hit “One Dance.”
Videos from the concert quickly began circulating online, showing an excited crowd erupting as Drake appeared onstage.
Dressed in black, the rapper took over the microphone to perform “One Dance” while Karol G danced alongside him, creating one of the biggest surprise moments of the night.
For African music lovers, “One Dance” needs very little introduction.
Released in 2016, the record features Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid alongside British singer Kyla and became one of Drake’s biggest songs worldwide.
The track was also a major career moment for the Toronto rapper, becoming his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 as a lead artist and spending 10 weeks at the top of the chart.
Drake’s appearance at Karol G’s Houston show also comes at a time when the two stars have been building a stronger musical connection.
In August, Drake featured on Karol G’s song “Ahí,” which appeared on her album No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto. The collaboration mixes Drake’s style with Karol G’s Latin sound and marked another major crossover moment between hip-hop and Latin music.
Before releasing the collaboration, Drake had already shown support for Karol G by attending her Toronto concert in July. Although he did not perform that night, he appeared on the stadium’s giant screen while enjoying the show.
His decision to actually hit the stage in Houston therefore gave fans something extra.
Karol G, meanwhile, continues her massive international tour after cementing herself as one of Latin music’s biggest global stars.
Her Houston concert formed part of a stadium run that includes dates across North and South America before heading to Europe in 2027.
With Drake unexpectedly stepping out to perform a classic like “One Dance,” the Houston crowd certainly got more than what was advertised.
And judging by the reaction online, the surprise link-up between Drake and Karol G has only added more attention to their growing musical connection.
